Little Quail And The Mad Birds was born in Brasília (DF, Brazil) in the early nineties. The purpose back then was to gather rock’n’roll, punk rock, rockabilly and easy-going lyrics. After a few line up changes, they settled as a trio, with Gabriel Thomaz (vocals and guitars), Zé Ovo (bass) and Bacalhau (drums). A demo tape was the first step towards a major label, and as a result there were three records, shows throughout Brazil and an emblematic hit: “1, 2, 3, 4”. After the band ended, Gabriel joined Acabou La Tequila and later started the Autoramas, a band that has already toured South America, Europe and Japan, and is still currently playing. Zé Ovo started working as a roadie and stage tech, and Bacalhau was in Rumbora, and also has toured with Gabriel O Pensador, Herbert Vianna and The Mission on the two times they played in Brazil (2000 and 2002). Now he plays in Ultraje a Rigor and Orgânica. In 2007, Läjä Rekords and Karasu Killer released their self-titled album, bringing back those recordings, and some videos are in the multimedia content. Hence, besides the already mentioned “1, 2, 3, 4” there are other classics like "Aquela" (that became a hit by the hands of fellow Brazilienses Raimundos), "Família Que Briga Unida Permanece Unida", "Berma Is A Monster" and "Essa Menina". by Ricardo Tibiu
