Brazilian Punk Rock/Hardcore band in Japan
The band started in november 2005 in the city of Kani – part of the Gifu-ken district – influenced directly by the Ramones and Brazilian punk bands from the 80s and 90s. After three different line-ups the band now has Caju (guitar and vocals), Rafael (bass and vocals) and Akira W. (drums).
In February 2006 the first demo, “Pensamento Mal”, was released. With intense sonority, it showed a reflection of Brazilian punk rock/hardcore.
This first effort brought the band a few shows in Japan, like playing in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, beside other Brazilian bands. The distribution for this demo CD got the band some shows in Nagoya and Tokyo, where they shared the stage with significant Japanese hardcore bands like Ada+Max, Dr. Catspaw, I.Q.O, Hisataka, Kamisori, Encroached, Aspirin, Unarm, Gordon Ivy & The JayBirds and Short Fuse.
2006 was a very intense year for Nomares, with positive results from the demo release, and shows in many Japanese provinces.
In February 2007 they went to Yokohama and shared the stage with Unkind, Scribller, Kola, Caravana Anarquista, Impoless No and Retort. In march they played in Hamamatsu, as part of the first Union Rock, and headed back there in April for a Brazilian-organized festival, Monsters of Cannibalism Vol. 6.
In May the band performed at Huck Finn in Nagoya, along with Muga and Curioso (a Japanese group that sings in Portuguese), and also two major names in hardcore, Vivisick and Mukeka Di Rato (Brazil).
Right now the band keeps on writing new material and rehearsing full-speed.
Since the beginning, many people treated us with consideration and we respect everyone who shows admiration for our work.
