Once upon a time, in sunny Salvador, there were five friends who decided to start a band, just for fun. They wanted to play simple, care-free, romantic and humorous rock’n’roll. Nowadays, everything is easier: record it at home, put it on the internet, and that’s it. “We won’t play shows, we’ll be a virtual band”, someone said. But a small local label decided to promote the band. And soon after that, came the first show. And the rest is history. It was the year 2003 when the joke called Los Canos began. Four years later, the band has already covered six Brazilian states and played in important festivals like Claro Que É Rock (BA), Ruído (RJ), Mor-Março (PB), MADA (RN), Do Sol (RN), and No Capricho (RJ), along with names like Placebo (UK), Pitty, Forgotten Boys, Cansei de Ser Sexy, Lulu Santos, Gram, Marcelo D2, and Autoramas among others.

They caught the media’s attention, participating in MTV’s Banda Antes [a program on Brazilian MTV that showcased upcoming independent bands], and collecting appearances in magazines like Zero, PHP, newspapers like Jornal O Globo, Jornal do Brasil, the tv program Alto-Falante, and others. After releasing two EPs on Bahia-based label Frangote Records, Los Canos released, in 2007, their first studio album, this time on Capixaba label Läjä Rekords (known for released the likes of Mukeka di Rato, Os Pedrero), which is distributed in Japan by Karasu Killer. With impeccable recording – a result of three months in the studio – the disc has fourteen songs, among already-hits like "Mercadologia", "Ela Não Gosta de Mim" and "Nada Sem Você", as well as new songs, like "Garota Nota 7", "Patrícia", and "Eu Sou Mau", and a version for “Pedacin”, by punk rock band Os Pedrero.

The record also has special appearances by people like Gabriel Thomaz (Autoramas), Fábio Mozine (Mukeka Di Rato, Os Pedrero), and André Mendes (Maria Bacana). Los Canos’ songs are mostly about innocent crushes, juvenile dissatisfaction, and they also make fun of their own lives as rockers, everything done with the good humor and innocence of the teenage years the band members have been through so long ago. Not recommended for old souls, workaholics and boring people in general.
